Cheryl L. Young, PBA At-Large Governor

Cheryl L. Young, a shareholder in the Norristown office of Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin, is the at-large governor on the PBA Board of Governors representing the interests of women lawyers in Pennsylvania.

A current member of the PBA House of Delegates, Young is a past chair of the PBA Membership Committee and the Outreach to Children Committee. She is the first vice chair of the PBA Family Law Section and a trustee of the Pennsylvania Bar Insurance Fund and Trust. Young is a member of the PBA Women in the Profession Committee and the Member Benefits and Services Committee, and she is a life fellow and former director of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation.

Young is a past president and a past member of the board of directors of the Montgomery Bar Association and a past chair of its Family Law Committee and Young Lawyers Division. She is a past chair of the Montgomery Bar Association Women in the Profession Committee. She also served as president and as a director of the Montgomery Bar Foundation and is a member of the Stefan and Taxis Circle.

She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Desmond J. McTighe Inn of Court and is a past member of the board of examiners of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

She is a board member of Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania and treasurer of the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project. She also is a past president of the Victims Services Center of Montgomery County and a past board member of the Ambler Area YMCA.

Young is a 1985 graduate of the Washington College of Law, American University, where she was on the Law Review. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in sciences in 1982 from Michigan State University. She and her husband, lawyer Glenn Young, have two children.
